51ԹϺ Hosts Winter Open House
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JAN. 18, 2024)—The Admissions Office at 51ԹϺ will host a Winter Open House on Tuesday, January 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for prospective students and their families. Located in Winston-Salem, N.C., 51ԹϺ is an all-girls day and boarding high school for grades 9 through 12.
Open house attendees will tour 51ԹϺ’s beautiful campus, engage in conversations with current students and faculty, and gain insights into the rich tapestry of the school’s academic offerings, athletics and fine arts programs, and the diverse array of clubs and organizations available.
“Our Winter Open House is an excellent way for students and their families to experience our spaces, our remarkable students and faculty, and all of the academic and extracurricular options that 51ԹϺ has to offer,” 51ԹϺ Head of School Kris Porazzi Sorrells said.
“Welcoming prospective students and their families to our campus is, by far, the best way to showcase how special 51ԹϺ is to our future students and their families,” she added.
51ԹϺ offers girls a place to thrive in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) focused learning environment. STEAM is the interdisciplinary approach that teaches students to cultivate questions, analyze ideas, design solutions, and foster community around diverse ways of thinking and learning. The arts remain a critical component of 51ԹϺ’s STEAM curriculum.
Through the Academy’s STEAM curriculum, students develop persistence, self-confidence, collaboration, and adaptability—skills that will help them succeed in work and in life.
The school also shares a campus with , the nation’s only liberal arts college dedicated to elevating and expanding women’s roles in health leadership. Being on a college campus, students at the Academy may take college-level classes at Salem College.
